Spirit Forward Bacardi Women In Leadership Empowerment Series landed in Miami last month, February 27th at The W Miami Hotel and it was something special for Miami.
“The summit is devoted to supporting the advancement of women, fairness and equality for all in the spirits trade and hospitality community.” The five-city tour stopped in Houston and ends April 3rd in New York.
The Miami version featured Dana Cowin, former Editor-in-Chief of Food & Wine Magazine as the Keynote Speaker, throughout the day the summit covered important topics including diversity, sexual harassment, financial planning and many other thought-proving subjects.
Each of these sessions was led by prestigious speakers, local industry professionals, and also included President of the United States Bartender’s Guild Pamela Wiznitzer, Founder and President of Financial Gym Shannon McLay, and Self Defense Expert Jennifer Cassesta.
Members of the local Miami hospitality industry included:
Work life balance panel moderated by Carla Rivera (SGWS) with panelists: Laura Benitez (Grey Goose Ambassador), Camille Ralph Vidal (St. Germain Ambassador), Eileen Andrade (Owner of Finka & Amelia’s) and Laura Martinez (Bacardi NAM Director of Talent Management).
How to find your voice panel moderated by USBG National President, Pamela Wiznitzer with panelists: Marita Leonard (Miami USBG President), Paula Echevarria Zamora (Miami New Times Producer), and Megan Cross (Beverage Director, Hutton Hotel).
Such an important initiative in Miami and beyond, this important event brought individuals from all parts of our industry to educate on important issues as well as celebrate the women in our industry. A true honor to have this summit in our backyard but a bigger honor to work alongside these badasses.
