YOU’RE INVITED: The RUM LINE celebrates Louis Salgar’s life & unveils new mural by Nicole Salgar. Sunday, June 21st, 8PM-12AM.

Louis Salgar was a passionate, amazing human being with an insatiable thirst for life.  His love for music, the arts and cocktails is only outdone by his beautiful soul.

Today would have been his 30th birthday.  And Sunday we will celebrate the way he would’ve wanted with family and friends.

Lou’s sister, Nicole Salgar, is a talented artist with work in the U.S. and beyond.  Sunday, she unveils her mural on the walls of  The Rum Line.

Rum Line is bringing the industry and community together with the unveiling of a special mural painted by local Nicole Salgar.

The project will be officially revealed in a celebration on:

Sunday, June 21, 2015
8PM to 12AM.

The Rum Line
1601 Collins Ave.
Miami Beach, FL

Nicole drew inspiration for the mural by the history of the rum line, a time in Florida’s past where rum was bootlegged and shipped through underground channels, as well as her late brother’s passion for the city. “Louis wanted to contribute to the growth of this city positively in the way he knew how – by bartending and bringing joy to people through music – and now I’m doing the same, using my talent as an artist,” says Salgar. The mural will feature vibrant and tropical expressions evoking a sense of vintage Miami.

Attendees can enjoy a complimentary coastal seafood broil to pair with The Rum Line’s menu of award-winning cocktails by Bar Director, Rob Ferrara.

A portion of the night’s proceeds will go to the Louis Salgar Fund, a charity founded by Nicole, which provides scholarships to underprivileged youth who need assistance in getting an education in vocational trades such as music or bartending.
